I started working out again and with that I've been taking in extra protein. I have a shake on my way into work as breakfast and another after I workout in the evening. Are there any side effects when taking in extra protein? Should it be done slowly? I started working out last week and this week is when I started the protein shakes. The past three days I've developed a headache by noon. Also, my restless legs at night have started up again. I get restless legs sometimes, but this week it's been hell. Every night right when I go to bed my knees and lower back get restless-- I can't keep still. I have to sit in a chair for about an hour until it goes away. I know it sounds silly that I'm putting these side effects on the extra protein intake. But it's the only reason I can think of why I've had headaches and night restlessness the past three days. Thought I'd ask you guys.
