I gather the latest news and bundle them all up onto a blog, eventually posting some of the news here. First I've heard of this though...Doesnt seem to be on many sites. Its not like im censoring information from you guys :hs:

    http://gamerevolver.com/article-114-PS3-Error-80010514-explained.html

Has anyone had the hard drive error yet? I wonder if this is related to it.

A few weeks ago I turned my PS3 on and it had to repair the hard drive because of the file integrity. It didnt change anything though and hasnt come up since...

So you're using universal "no shit" information that applies to every type of similar device on the planet to attack the PS3 as a POS. Nice job Einstein.

 @ teamxbox blowing the story wide-open.

 @ RROD errors being as high as 16%.

 @ what causes it being entirely the fault of the user.

Considering that the PS1 and PS2 were both riddled w/ shitty optical mechanisms, I wouldn't just disregard this so easily.

I bet you can fix it by turning your ps3 upside down.

I remember my PS2's laser burning itself out 3 months after i bought it. It was a easy fix but still cost me an additional $25. Great console tho.

teamxbox isn't a horrid site, specially when u consider there are sites like this http://www.sonydefenseforce.com/

    From experience.

I had my PS3 for a week before Resistance wouldn't play. Talladega Nights wouldn't play either. Two days straight. Called Tech support and they had NO clue as to what was going on. They offered to send me a box. I told them wait another day. Played FFXII and RtK X the rest of the day.

The next day it worked fine.

I've been on my PS3 like almost daily now.

whatever. It's not shocking that a console fails anymore. Now they have to have fans, disc drives, hard drives, and so much moving parts in them it's bound to happen. Hell, my Wii bit the dust (luckly a couple days before the 3 month warranty, also luckly Nintendo doesn't have a ship-in service and I got it repaired free in the next town over in under 15 minutes), but no one talks about Wii's failure rate. OK, so the 360 had a really bad start, but now they pack in a more efficient CPU and better cooling and those consoles are down to 16%, which is my guess where the other two would be.

And raise your hand here if you've had a CD or DVD based game system fail. It's going to look like freakin' grade school in here. Your PS2 won't read discs any more, that's why you got the PS2 slim or held out for the PS3. Same logic in going from your PS1. Anyone have a Sega Saturn? Yeah not any more you fucking don't.

Point is, this isn't news. An xbox fails? Yawn. A PS3 fails? Oh my gawwwwwwwwwwddddd NOT INTERESTING
