who has one and for those of you that do, do you think it's worth it to invest in one?
speed or heavy?
I have a heavy bag, Unfortunately no where to hang it.
I used to love it when I had a huge house, best cardio I've ever done.
great cardio, can be fun once you figure out what you are doing.
If you have the space and the place to hang one, I would get a nice unfilled thai bag from fairtex and then fill it with corn kernals and t-shirts. You can make it about 250-300 pounds this way and you will be able to kick it, and it won't swing as much. I have trouble without someone holding a normal heavy bag like Leo posted, they are too light....plus that canvas one will fuck up your elbows and shins, I would recommend leather if you can.
www.fairtexgear.com look for their unfilled thai/bannana bags
So I shouldn't have popped the corn first??
sounds great, but where would i get the corn kernals and how much did you use?
definitely don't get the canvas ones...
Costco and Sam's club sell them wholesale... You can buy tons for dirt cheap... I have a old 250lb kick boxing bag that is leather canvas'... Best investment I have done...
how much did it cost?
Let me check... Hold up...
No problem... One thing for sure though make sure you get some really nice hand wraps and gloves... Save your wrists the trouble later...
i have a century wave2000 freestanding. it's pretty good.
what's the proce on something like that?
a free standing one would be the best in my case
i paid close to $300. it's like 270lbs wtih the base filled.
Make sure to get good wraps and gloves man... Otherwise you can hyperextent your wrist bad...
just make sure to get real leather!!! and punch them shits bear fisted to toughen up your knuckles, start slow.
punching the bag is my fav fore arm work out.
i love my wailing on my heavy bag, i got a setup with heavy bag, speed bag, sway bar, and a side to do dips
yooos guys is crazy! canvas is awesome, conditioning plus bag hits all in one! toughens knuckles in no time
I just bought a 100 lb bag a few weeks ago and love it.
I love my punching bag!!!!! Best $100 I've ever spent. I didn't hang it right and it fell out of the ceiling, but other than that it was worth it.
