In Switzerland, anyone who wants to export war material needs a permit. In addition, the buyer must guarantee with a so-called non-re-export declaration that he will not pass the material on abroad. But there is one exception: If it is only about individual parts or assemblies of a weapon, this can be dispensed with. This was also the case with the warheads: The British government was thus able to deliver 4,000 NLAWs to Ukraine in the past few weeks without violating Swiss regulations.

Green security politician Marionna Schlatter finds this highly problematic in terms of neutrality policy. Loopholes meant that "our war material always ends up somewhere where it doesn't belong - even in conflicts". The National Councilor of the Greens is demanding tightening of export regulations. Today you have no control over where Swiss war material ends up.

Half of the Navy’s littoral combat ship fleet is suffering from structural defects that have led to hull cracks on several vessels, limiting the speed and sea states in which some ships can operate, according to internal records obtained by Navy Times and confirmed by sea service officials.
