i agree

UA agrees

pussy US is like welll we dont wanna poke putin. blah blah blah
The only poking action that I was iffy about was the NATO sec gen saying Russia can't be allowed to win.. to me that was too explicitly NATO vs Russia.
But supplying weapons? Hey a weapons manufacturer's gotta eat, it's business not personal. Go nuts.

That's got to suck, dismissing your childhood friend because you suspect, or know, that he's compromised.
There was discussion about Ukrainian corruption and Z appointing his friends as an example but I wonder how much of that was trying to appoint people he could trust (or so he thought) vs actual corruption.

CHINA is convinced it now needs to hit America "hard and early " in a surprise Pearl Harbor-style attack to invade Taiwan, a leading expert has warned.

Oriana Skylar Mastro, a fellow at Stanford University, told The Sun Online how Beijing increasingly views an invasion of the island as inseparable from a war with the US.

She explained that Beijing now believes it also has to fight the US if it is to fulfil its long cherished goal of invading Taiwan and "reuniting" with the mainland.

Mastro believes the most likely way such a conflict would play out is with a Pearl Harbor-style attack on US forces in the region.

It would be designed to try and knock out US forces so they could not react to stop China gaining a foothold in Taiwan, which it regards as its territory.

The strategic gamble would be an attempt to stall a wider war - just as Japan hoped when they attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, drawing the US into World War Two.

Scary if true that china sees the invasion of Taiwan and attacking the US military assets in the region as the same thing.

Seems the only way to accomplish that would be to take out a whole carrier force and/or US bases in Japan. Does China have capabilities to even do that, and especially with any sort of surprise?

Maybe. These dudes sim out all of this type of stuff using DCS, can get kinda long but pretty interesting. Basically if they get off a large enough salvo of supersonic anti-ship missiles, a US CSG might not be able to stop it.

So then the question comes up of can a CSG stay out of range of that, but close enough to respond once an attack on Taiwan has begun.

Cannot wrap my head around why China thinks that comparatively tiny island is worth going to war with their biggest export customer for? Supposedly their banking and construction economies are already very strained - how's it gonna be when Sanctions = no exports = many companies folding = mass unemployment?
