im still skeptical whether it was really incompetence or exactly what they wanted. they basically get away with shooting it down without actually shooting it down.

Definitely did not intend to clip the MQ-9 like they did. Another foot closer and the Su-27 probably would have been lost too. Russians are already facing enough aircraft loses in Ukraine.

the fuel dump was definitely the plan. in some weird rational they get to say they didnt shoot it down. clipping it is a pretty big risk to their own 30mm jet which is fragile as hell.
