No place for older men
I've met a few Ukrainian men in Canada that bribed border officers in order to leave Ukraine. I have mixed feelings about it. They would probably be useless at the front line, since they have zero motivation to fight. On one hand, i can't respect their choice. On the other hand, i understand their desire not to die. If i was in their shoes, who knows, maybe i would've turned out to be a pussy too. Or maybe not. I am rather unpredictable in a sense that i always find out who i am when i face a difficult choice/situation and i can never know ahead what exactly i am going to do.
This was the whole plot of Red Badge of Courage.

Young kid goes into battle, freaks out, and runs from the battlefield. I believe he gets wounded.
Much later, he is in another battle, and winds up fighting.
He is not sure he's changed, in that he thinks he might flee again the next time.

this is probably a stupid question since I know nothing about the history of Romania or Moldova...
If they were one country until USSR broke them up into two, why didn't they merge after the fall of USSR? Or even now?
They speak the same language and share the same culture I assume...

From what I read about the warrants they were specifically related to the abduction and deportation of children.

Is launching missiles at civilian targets and murdering innocent people not considered a war crime? Because that happens weekly not to mention the other atrocities committed.

I'd assume the latter is much harder to prove than the former.
