Anyone use one on their bikes?
This looked interesting.
Why not just hardwire a V1 in the bike
If this is similar in performace, I'd go for this as this is smaller and weather proof. I ride in the rain often. Then again I don't think I've ever seen them running radar in the rain. lolol
That unit isn't similar in performance. I would hardwire a V1.
whistler makes a pretty sick radar for bikes that has a front and rear radar detectors and it just looks like a voltage and temp gauge so it if you get pulled over it doesn't look painfully obviouse that you where using a detector because they don't give you breaks when they see you running them
why would you get pulled over if you have a radar detecter, dumb question, but yeah
edit: Im not asking WHY you can't have a radar detector, I'm wondering what you would be pulled over for.. considering you would be aware of when police are around
cops don't always run radar
Could you link me to the test results?
I already have a V1...I'm just too lazy to set it up on my bike.
Detectors are illegal in Virginia and DC. Cops have radar detector detectors and will pull you over if you have it on.
lmao radar detector detectors? holy shit that is funny, I didn't know those existed. How do they pinpoint who has it? When you pass by? I mean i thought detectors were illegal in every state anyway? Im from Ny like you
Ps. Im assuming this is only the state troopers, not street cops that have these detectors? Meaning you would just turn it off when you got a signal on the highway?
Pretty sure they're legal everywhere but there, they're certainly legal in CA
It won't be funny when you get a ticket if you have your detector on in the state of Virgina and Washington DC. Those are the only places in this country where radar detectors are illegal. They were illegal in Conn. up until 1998. Oh and if you drive a commercial truck...they are illegal in every state.
Street cops could have them too. It's another way for them to make money giving out tickets. If you assume that you can just turn it off when you get a signal...you're wrong. Lets say the cop is just sitting there with his RDD waiting for someone to drive by with their detector and he doesn't have his radar gun on...how would you even know he's there?
touche about the guy with his radar off. but question, i thought they were illegal in NY? I don't plan on stepping foot in Virgina and washington DC. Isn't virgina corrupt as fuck?
Some Radar Detectors have Radar Detector Detector Detectors built into them that shut themselves off if they sense a Radar Detector Detector.
Yes, I am serious... don't remember where I read that, but it was a decent article about RDs.
Wow I fucking love youtube. Cause now I can show you how hard I laugh when I hear you guys say this shit
edit: man i gotta watch this movie again. it's been years!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_detector_detector mentions them
so no, i'm not kidding
Radar Roy gives his review on the TPX...
I have a detector on my bike, love it
it's the one they talk about on radarbuster.com
Trace buster buster buster, funny sheat.
Yeah, the TPX is bad ass, and better than a Valentine on a bike!
cause ssometimes cops are sneaky bastards and use the instant on radar which really works best when your the only car on the road senario and you have no noticed except that your screwed much like many laser detectors
