Yup, those are photos.
I didn't want to take any chances fucking around with manual settings Basically, because I don't know what I'm doing yet.
This passes right by my house
It's amazing to watch those guys, especially if you ride. THen you realize how fucking fast they are.
Could've used a slower shutter speed and panning to give a little more sense of speed.
mmm waffle house
I took a few of that race. I actually had a group meeting scheduled at the same time, so I could only run outside and snap a few every time they came around.
I would have gone to a corner with better light if I had been able to.
I love waffle house
Those are awesome photos dude! Is the "eye" for a photo angle something you just learn over time?
You just learn over time, plus, I didn't have a wall in my way. I was also using fill flash (well, when the flash could recycle fast enough) to try to fill in some of those dark shadows since they were all back lit.
Also, since I wasn't trying to shoot any specific person, I could just shoot whoever, and then pick out the best ones of whoever. If I was trying to shoot one specific person and only post those shots it then becomes a crap shoot as to whether or not those particular shots would have been good or not.
Ohhh yeah, and being able to do 300mm at f4 helps as well for some nice bokeh. The wide angle ones were done with me squatting down about 6 or 7 feet away and shooting slightly up. Couldn't have done that if there was a wall in my way.
