random but.. anyone still flying an original mavic air?

was looking for spare props for my air2 before hawaii in 2 weeks and came across some leftover accessories from my air1 that decided to have a battery failure a few years ago. like.. six pairs of oem props.

yes

I mean.. I have it, but can't remember last time I used it :o

covid meant no travel. will be taking it to the US in August tho

@psyphre I just wanted to let you know that my wallet says fuck you very much for getting me back into this hobby homie

getting ready to swap a castle mmx 8s and 1717/1650 motor into my infraction v2 this week lol. already done a bunch of chassis and drivetrain upgrades, gnss gsm020, etc. it’s so ridiculous already, I can’t wait to take it to 8s.

thing has been a blast though. except the time I lost track of it behind me trying to move out of the way for a car and ran it into my ankle at like 15-20 mph lol. :o that shit hurt like a mother fucker, I can’t imagine what kind of damage it would do at 50-60+ let alone 100+

Given that the track is outdoors, is it basically muddy? It looks muddy as hell, but your car looks relatively clean. I checked out an indoor track local to me and if I recall, their track was some sort of "oiled clay".

It’s grippy and slick looking, but far from mud. It’s an oiled track .. doesn’t break up, loads of grip, tyres don’t wear, cars come off clean but tyres are crazy sticky

I ran new tyres Q1 2wd (control tyre.. proline holeshots) .. which were horrible early morning in the cold (it’s winter here).. used rubber (2 meets worth) waaaay better with all the sticky shit on them

That's pretty cool. You and 1st place seem to have the same car. Are they pretty much the best car in the 4wd buggy class? I see some people run Tekno here, but I don't see any Associated or Losi. Are any of the Tamiya or Kyosho kits even competitive? For nostalgia's sake, I'm kind of eying the Kyosho Optima Mid re-release. Not that I'll ever be competitive, just out of curiosity.

top 3 in 4wd stock were all Xray XB4's

2wd stock was won by a Team Associated, then 2nd and 3rd were Xray XB2's

Xray is the most prominent buggy down here at the moment.

A few Teknos here. TLR's and AE's too obviously. Tamiya has been out of the offroad racing scene for easily a decade or more

I ran Kyosho forever.. still got my RB7 and ZX7 but Kyosho doesn't look like they will develop their 1/10th racing platforms any more.

I ran them both in modified for a long time... then I cracked and got Xrays and realised I had been making it so hard for myself this whole time

Still love my Kcars tho. Setting them up for the local carpet track
