whats sadr city?
how was the nightlife?
pics of scantily clad bitches?
Pics of chics completely covered in clothing?
Why didn't you find Sadr and fuck up his world?
Heard it's wonderful this time of year.
Was it like this?
did you find a sat phone?
pics of men fornicating with fully clothed goats?
It's a part of Baghdad. Home to about 2 million Iraqi's. About 8 square miles of moderately shitty real estate.
It's been booming until very recently. This last mission through there was absolutely boring. Looks like the latest ceasefire is going to hold.
not so much.
Can you see youtube?
The kids there seem to have a great time, but I would not want to be a girl there.
that's someone else's job. I'm on a Route Clearance team. We go in looking for explosive devices, booby traps, and other hazards to mobility. We always leave 'em with a bang.
Just one on this mission.
the stench of shit and the swarms of flies combine for a wonderful ambiance.
My link to the web is sucking through a 6000 mile straw. I have a hard time loading pics off the web. It would take me forever to load a video.
see above. I have a video of us blowing an IED, but it would take for-fucking-ever to upload it.
I gave up. Looks like my request to extend over here will not be approved.
not so much.
I can get to the site, but trying to view the videos is like watching dead grass grow.
My internets go from my room, to the satellite dish down the road, to an ISP in Greece. Everything from dust storms to random passing alien spacecraft fucks up my link. :Ownedd:
Be safe over there.
there's a video of one of our Sadr City IEDs that I've been uploading for a while. It should be done in a few minutes... I think.
in for vid
do you believe in the war that you are participating in?
i hate sand people
That's where I lived for about 6 months. Pretty shitty.
When my unit left the Army just abandoned the camp, no one replaced us. Do we have any camps in that part of town anymore?
It's going to be a few hours before it's done uploading. It's only a couple of minutes long, but like I said before, my interwebs suck ass.
Absolutely. Every single IED that I find and destroy means at least one life saved. The sooner we can give these people a safe place to live, the sooner we can leave. Or we could just walk away right now and have the blood of millions on our hands.
I don't. The majority of Iraqi's are good people that want nothing more than to make a quasi-honest living, raise their kids well, and make their wife proud of them. The shitbags that are bent on chaos and destruction are a small minority. But they carry a big bang.
JSS Sadr is pretty much just a staging area with a fuel truck and a small bombed out planning/ops building surrounded by T-walls. When we stay there we sleep underneath our vehicles. It's as close to nothing as you can get and still be in an Army compound.
