:O :O :O
RED is the most absolute badass thing in the entire world.
what truly blew me away is the lens selection thing..
ohh you want to shoot with your canon lense..sure go ahead..wanna use nikon ..of couuurse
thats just mindblowing for many people
Theres no way I can afford that.
And I thought the A900 was ugly... lol
competition = good
I guess I don't really understand a RED SLR. Is this meant to be aimed at us or is this more of a medium/large format camera? Does it do video, ect? I understand that this is a modular system, but I guess I don't understand the benefits other than that.
Anyone want to expand?
aimed at leica S2 market i guess, which does not do video.
id love to see one in use.
i dont get it though, isnt it some large sensor, how would the lenses made for 35mm cameras work
holy shit do want
I guess Ill be the first to say I couldnt care less.
I'm with you here. I just do not have desire for new/better gear.
Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (Treo 755p: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D060; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)
If they had a larger sensor couldn't they do some sort of 'reverse crop' thing where it would shrink the area to fit in the circle of the 35mm lenses?
Doesn't the rumored Nikon MX format do something like this?
You own Mexico with MX format.
They know that no one will buy that thing, so they are trying to get some sales by adding canon/nikon mount
And does not look practical either, at least for middle class people.
Red is an astounding company, true visionaries. I worked on a film shot on the Red One and it was just incredible what that camera could do.
A local production house shoots with a Red One. I'd LOVE to work with those guys
i hope they sell, usually when a small company is this ambitious they dont last too long.
No one will buy it? It isn't made for people buying any of the canon or nikon SLR's, it is made for professionals. granted professionals use 5d mkii and stuff, but there comes a point when you could always use "more"... red has "more"..
