How do you do that without getting penalties?

My accountant told me there's no way I can get around paying estimated taxes.

You do not have to pay estimated tax for the current year if you meet all three of the following conditions.
  • You had no tax liability for the prior year
  • You were a U.S. citizen or resident for the whole year
  • Your prior tax year covered a 12 month period
I have always filed yearly and never had a problem doing that way

I am always told I will be penalized, but I am always late. (never penalized with my cpa or IRS) Sending out my payment today. Makes me cry to see that much money go *poof*

If it's postmarked with the due date it's not late.
