Is there any downside to renaming it? I hate it looking at me with that ugly name.
mine has been changed since day one.
i saw that in the screenshot thread and almost fell out of my chair
I did it and everything went well. You can search for my old thread. Someone gave good help.
dude, it's not like rocket science, you just select the drive and rename it...done...
wtf, just rename it.
DUDE, renaming HD's can cause several things to not function anymore and CAN cause issues, but "I" did not have any problems.
the computer will implode
requesting documented proof of said problems.
Since no one has told the original poster how to actually do it...
Right click the HD image, then go to get info. Then name/extension, and change the name.
If thats too hard, you can just double click on the HD text on the desktop and leave your cursor over the text, it'll let you edit it.
or select the drive and press enter.
Renaming drives in Windows can be a problem, not in OSX, though...
Go find it, I'm not your bitch. You're the one who want's to know.
The info is there
Renaming the computer can cause problems, not the HD.
I was cool doing it guys, thanks for the info. I'm coming from Windows so I wanted to make sure.
come on now, we all know that only rubes have their HD icons on the desktop.
