to shoot the Padres game this wednesday. $40/day from a local camera shop. I hope nothing happens to it because I had to put a $1700 deposit down...:noes:

Hopefully i'll have pics up by the weekend.

if you know in advance what/when you will be shooting, then Rentglass.com is a MUCH cheaper choice. I have rented many lenses from them, the only problem is, finding that particular lens in stock. It's a tough one to get.

Usually they won't from what I have read. But for some reason you could walk in with an EVF with a 200 zoom on it.

1 week for $53 = ~$8/day vs. $40 which he is paying... AND no deposit

It's cheap, but that had only ONE lens in stock when I looked. I'm probably going to rent a 85mm 1.2 later this summer for a wedding, but I need it on specific dates, couldn't use this site for that.

you don't pay the $1700, its just on file incase something happens to the lens.

and yes, $40/day. I would have gone with rentglass.com but the Nikon website isn't up until July 20th and the preview site doesn't have anything available.

You have $1700 to use as a deposit? Just buy the damn lens. It's totally worth it, and you know you want it.... ;)

it's just a deposit if something happens to the lens, like a little midget kicking him in the balls while another midget runs up and steals the lens then sells it on ebay. you gotta watch out for those midgets, they come out of nowhere.

pending charge != 1700 charge on credit card that you'll pay interest on until you pay it off

no flash...I used my 70-300 ED F/4-5.6 DX lens and shot at ISO 1000. Hopefully with this lens I won't have to do that...:x:

Sheesh, I know how it works, I was being facetious. Except the part about getting the lens.
