Do they prevent someone from contacting you by phone?
funny story. my brothers GF at the time had an order against him. they showed up in the same car for one of the court dates for the restraining order....he got arrested
So, you need to get a temporary order and go to court before they will extend it to a decent amount of time?
my ex has been calling my work phone non stop for a week and showed up at my house yesterday throwing around threats.
idk the specifics....thats just one of our family stories that gets thrown around the table during christmas dinner
I don't know how the whole phone thing works but I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
here's another thought. what if i dont know his address?
here's another nother thought
he has things that belong to me (including a $500 ring with my name inscribed on it that ive had for 5 years). what can i do about that?
Have you tried calling him and saying something like "look we are over, I want my ring, and stop harassing me?" (I assume you have, but I gotta ask...)
i have indeed. but he wants to meet in sketch places, and its not something i want to do with the kid who tried to kill me...
call a lawyer
Well, this is just me and because I know crazy people but meet up with him at a mutual meeting spot like a mall or something like that and bring someone with you. Preferably someone who will be able to beat ass if needed.
he wont meet anywhere now
i really dont know what to do. i know the city in which he lives, and his roommate, but i dont know their address or how to find them
that sucks, hope you find some way of reclaiming your belongings.
If you have a credit card and an internet connection and his name, you can find his address pretty quick. Google FTW. I'd be down to kick his ass but I'm kind of far away heh.
actually just found a website that gave me his address with his phone number for free
Thats assuming its all current. The phone company could probably track the numbers for a time period for you and then send the info to whomever needed it for an order.
Depending on the state you live in, he could be charged under the stalking laws which are a more serious crime. It helps if other people at work are willing to testify for you. As to the ring, since your name is inscribed on it you might be able to the the police to help you recover it. It helps if you have an old picture of you wearing it.
idk but someone isnt too happy with you
and also, if you meat up in a public place - do not bring pepper spray/mace/tear gas.. it's against the law to spray indoors i think.... and i don't ever need another crowd trying to push me out a cluba gain
my ex went crazy after i left him in February. The best thing that worked for me was contacting the local GLBT organization for help. Luckily, in Columbus, there is GLBT violence org that helped with the legal aspects. I can only hope there are similar services in your neck of the woods.
If he tried to kill you, why open that door again and let him back in? Leave it to professional help and take care of yourself!
And let's face it, it's a ring, an inanimate object, yes with lots of memories, but in the long run, you'll forget about them.
I packed my shit up at 1am on Valentine Day, took whatever i could in one car, and got the fuck outta there. I left a lot of shit that i will never see again, but i've been fine without it all.
skreid has been a bad bad boy.
