There will always be people who steal because they can. What the MPAA, and any other media-distribution entity, should focus on is attracting the people who only steal stuff not worth the price tag.
8 months professionally training 2 dogs: $25,000 dollars
Walking into a corner store in Brooklyn: $0 dollars

No doubt they justify it as an "exploration of possible future capabilities". They wouldn't be wrong, and as long as they're spending their own money I guess I don't care what they spend it on.
Their own money? In other words, the tax or penalty if you will that legitimate users pay.
