Random question, if I get an ROTC scholarship at the school I'm in now, can I transfer to another school as long as I stay in ROTC and keep the scholarship? Or am I obligated to stay at this school?

Random question, I don't feel like making a new thread. If I get an ROTC scholarship at the school I'm in now, can I transfer to another school as long as I stay in ROTC and keep the scholarship? Or am I obligated to stay at this school?
I dunno how Army works but with AFROTC you have to stay at the school that offers you the scholarship. AFROTC scholarships are handed out from the detachment and it is the det commander that decides in the end who to give scholarships to. Army may work it different.

You may be able to transfer and keep the scholarship. As long as you are not changing your major and your commander approves it. Just talk to your cadre.

All depends on the schools and the cadre. I dont think the changing the major thing will matter to the army. the ARMY ROTC program I am in could care less what your major is, as long as you keep your grades up.

Changing your major can and will matter to ROTC. There is a form for everything in the military and there is a form for changing your major in ROTC.

Changing your major can mess with your 104-R which would need an approval form by your PMS. This can mess with your graduation date thus your commissioning date. Talk to your PMS and he'll probably approve it.

Yes you can and there are ways for the army to pay for it. There are also ways to get the army to pay for you to learn a language! ROTC has tons of opportunities.

yes you can transfer schools, you will keep the scholarship, but what the rotc will do is drop your current school scholarship and give you a new one at your new school. This is because your cadet contract would be broken.
