I'm an athlete and I have been doing an Olympic Powerlifting routine for the past 6 months. Never felt more explosive :coold:

max strength increases top speed
stability keeps you from injuring shit
proper cardio allows you to recover between points (field sports are spent mostly walking around)

All the same shit you do to get jacked makes you better at sports. The usual problem is fitting in with your actual sport.

The irony here is powerlifting isn't that powerful. Just because you are more powerful than you've ever been doesn't mean it's the best routine.

I doubt Blake Griffin, the most powerful man on the planet, powerlifts.

power = work/time

plyometrics > powerlifting
