Here's an easy way to not die in the event of unintended acceleration...

    LEARN YOUR SHIFT PATTERN

I hope more morons die in fiery crashes because they're too busy doing everything else besides actually learning how to operate their vehicle

Even my 67 year old mom knows exactly what to do in a run away car situation.

My jeep 'ranaway' on me twice two months ago because the throttle cable stuck.... First I tried brakes... When that didn't work I went into N... Braked, stopped... Engine off life saved.

I think I am going to start selling a training seminar on ebay.....

How not to die when your accelerator is stuck.

Trishield will come in and blame Toyota for being a mass-murdering car company. They purposely designed the cars this way to kill innocent people.

I can't believe so many people drive automatics in the States. I don't even know anyone who's ever driven one over here, much less owned one :o

Toyota's main problem....assuming Americans are smart enough to operate a shifter.

long boring highways and snarled traffic in the cities coupled with a big plush fwd family sedan = no reason to have a manual

i'll admit that if you merely LOOK at the letters next to the shifter and have the intellect of an ape it might appear confusing.

If you actually operate the vehicle ONCE you will rapidly realize where neutral is since one flick to the right from park and it puts itself there almost automatically
