Running: Knee injury

    Short bg: I'm training for Marines bootcamp (bootcamp date is April 6th if important) ran in some bad shoes on saturday and got some pain in my feet(heals mainly) with a mild pain up my shin bone.

    So far i've kept it level and follow a good while of icing with a hot bath, alternating. Also taking aspirin.

    Am I treating it correctly, or do any of you have any knowledge on a quicker recovery treatment?

    PS... The pain got big after 2 miles into my run

    be sure to stretch before and after and even randomly during the day will help also

    taking asprin or ibuprofen are good bc of their anti inflammatory effects

    RICE is good, elevate your feet after at end of the day

    also running on concrete is much worse for your knees, but it doesnt sound like you have much of a choice in boot camp. maybe some insoles will help cushion your joints...

    just try and listen to your body, back in the day when I wrestled my knees started killing me in the mourning. I didnt really do anything about it and a week later injured one of them seriously. :hs: just be careful and listen to your body
