Anybody plan on attending this year?
I'll be there Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Going to a con is just too comic nerd for me
if I had money I would
I'd like to meet Robert Kirkman, have him autograph a TWD #1 for me.
Probably Friday-Sunday for me. I've noticed that I've been buying less comics the past few years. Maybe this year I'll search for toys and art.
id love to go to a comic con
I've been the past two years and should be going again this year.
This isn't some mom & pop comic show in backwater nerdyville. This is Comic Con International in San Diego.
You could attend this convention and never set eyes on a single comic book. CCI is a glorious orgy of pop culture, from comics to anime to videogames to television to Hollywood motion pictures.
I went one day last year and saw the Warner Bros. preview panel. Joel Silver and Natalie Portman came out onstage to answer questions from the audience after they showed the V For Vendetta preview. They also showed like 15 minutes of The Fountain, some crazy fountain of youth movie. The creators of Corpse Bride came out and answered questions after showing a 10 minute clip of their movie. And a special convention-only trailer was shown of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
After that, I went to the videogames hall and played a demo of the Dawn of War expansion before it was finished. Cryptic Studios had Zeb Cook out there answering questions about City of Villains. They had demos of Ultimate Spiderman and a bunch of Xmen games and shit.
Later, I sat in on the Battlestar Galactica panel. They had like 10 people out there, from producer David Eick to actors Grace Park and Katee Sackhoff and Jamie Bamber, all answering questions and telling stories and talking about the second season of the show.
And after that, I went to the Adult Swim panel and checked out what the creators of their line up had to say about all the shit they had planned for the next seasons of ATHF, Robot Chicken, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Squidbillies, and all that shit.
So no, Comic Con International is not all about comic nerds.
i wanted to go, but it was going to be so expensive for me to make it out there from DC. i went to Wizard World in Philadelphia and it was a lot of fun but not as big as CCI
Going to any con is too comic nerd for me
Ahem! I SAID
I got the chance to meet the entire cast of the devils rejects, and had them autograph a poster for me
