that guy with the mustache looks gangsta as fuck, i wouldn't want to mess with him
Choke. Full blown? Ughajdfhaksdhaskdhaskh
This is by far the worst thing I've ever seen.
rex kwan do ngas
You guys can laugh, but it makes me wonder if future generations will look back at current self defense techniques the same way you're looking at this video.
No because boxing, MT, wrestling, judo, and JJ have been around for hundreds or thousands of years. The techniques in that vid are just plain weak and pathetic.
Greco Roman Wrestling is mega old and I still respect it
Do you actually sit there and think of retarded shit or does it just come to you naturally?
As I should have expected, I'm getting yet more STUPID and ignorant comments. When Joe Rogan said martial arts has evolved more in the past decade than in the past 1000 years, he was right. I'm simply saying, it may continue to evolve. Just because you guys don't get it, doesn't mean I'm the one who is stupid. It's actually YOU who needs an edumacation.
I'm tired of your shit!
Citing joe rogan as an authority on the evolution of martial arts too stupid to not be trolling.
Honestly, Joe Rogan knows his stuff. Probably better than 95% of Cagers.
He was a TKD national champion and is now a brown belt in BJJ. He's done color commentary for the UFC since its early days.
I know he does in terms of mma, etc, but I just mean that as a source for the overall history and evolution of martial arts, when you're trying to argue that people hundreds of years from now will look back and find our techniques useless, its kind of silly to cite a person who is employed by and has only participated in the current techniques.
just seemed dumb to be like "JOE ROGAN SAID SO." in response to a far more general discussion thats more principles of culture in general than a specific mma argument.
Like I said, Joe was a TKD champ. He can see those techniques are not useful in modern MMA. He knows first hand. He's also seen style vs style in the Octagon come and go first hand, to the point where it is now.
i see what you mean
Its mma though. The fighters have evolved by getting better at specific martial arts and at blending them.
The actual techniques they use are more or less unchanged from judo, boxing, wrestling, jj. Certainly new techniques have come up but the old ones are still useful after hundreds of years. If it can break an arm, toss someone on their ass or knock someone out, it will stick around.
So you agree?
Yes but the application, situations, styles, stances, etc have evolved to all of the different styles being used in different arenas.
Boxing changed its stance from keeping the hands at the waist to raising them to protect the face.
Now that boxing stance won't work in MMA, he would get kicked in the leg repeatedly or taken down. MMA "boxers" have evolved to change their stance and include takedown defense.
oh of course I agree that MMA has evolved, but the techniques they use are still hundreds of years old and aren't going to be laughable one day like the ones in that self defense vid. I don't see anyone laughing at george foreman or even joe louis and today people still throw the same cross and hook as they did.
omg takedown from glasses and ball flurry
Man, when someone throws there glasses at me, the fetal position would be my natural instinct too.
