Lots of big talk about Zack Arias lately, and yes, he's awesome. After reading his page for the last week or so, I've most of the stuff to complete his "look". I took the time to close my shop for 15 minutes or so to setup, adjust the strobes, and set the camera on a timer. The BG is not super white, but a creamish color, which worked. I do however have super white on order. Here's the setup shot: Yes, I'm aware, that it's cluttered and ugly. 3-430ex, two which are triggered via Radio Popper, and one is being controlled through Canon's IR system. The master is a 580exI, which is mounted on camera, with the light outputs set on manual. In PP, select the doge tool and set your tonal range to "highlight". Dodge all the dark areas, and crop to size. For my first test shot, I think it came out pretty well. I'm excited to test this setup on a friend's clothing line.
