TECH Selling products on a blog?

Ideally I'd like to have a full e-commerce site (which I'm working on as soon as I can find a template).

But in the meantime to get some movement, could I sell things on a blog? I see Wordpress is mentioned a lot and now just noticed Drupal.

Can anyone recommend anything? I was thinking that I might offer a new product or offer daily.
