i used to lift weights, never really got much enjoyment from it....got bigger, but was never satisfied. so my question is....why do people lift weights if they're not competing for anything. i mean, you can say 'it gives me confidence when i look better' but for the most part i read threads explaining how you're not satisfied with a certain muscle group. furthermore, lets say you do get big and broly....eventually your gonna lose that mass, isn't that kind of depressing? i just dont see the point in lifting 4 to 5 times a week if your not in a sport or bodybuilding, etc. if your gonna spend all that time and effort working your body like that, i feel its absurd not to put it to use in some sort of competitive sport. do any of you guys question yourselves on WHY you lift?
