i have some year old protein powder, quite a bit of it, and i'm wondering if it's worth using anymore.

5lbs in a tub, probably another 5lbs in a 10lb bag. ON whey.

just incase, i bought another tub today. :noes: if it's not going to kill me but perhaps wont be as effective, i could just use it up by adding it to my new mix.

maybe 1.75 scoop of new stuff + .25 of old stuff per shake, for example.

and on a side note i didnt know Vitamin Shoppe sold prohormones :eek4:

How in the fuck do you let protein sit around for that long? I go through one in 2 months or so.

it's backwarsd, i know. when i'm NOT working out, that's when i should be eating it so i conserve muscle mass. but i see that as a waste and i dont eat it if i'm not working out.

i started surfing for awhile and lifting was hindering my ability to learn to stand up so i stopped lifting, stopped taking the shakes.

then started family issues and lost motivation to do anything but sleep and try not to die.

finally getting around to being motivated, lifting again, just need to up the protein intake.

there should be a date but I have some ON that is a year or so old and the date is 2010...so the total life is at least 2-3 years I'm guessing.

Been drinking 3 shakes a day of the expired stuff for a week now and so far so good. I did some research and a lot of sources say it may change color and smell differently but it should still be good. I'm using up my strawberry flavor but my 5 lbs of vanilla smells pretty funky I think I will end up tossing that. I have All The Whey Protein Isolate in cupcake batter flavor on the way. $35 shipped off Ebay.

You're still long before the expiry date, which is the earliest possible time something *may* happen. You'd be good for at least another 6 months after that, assuming it was stored in a cool, dry place.
