XSi + Tamron 17-50
No, it's called low depth of field. It's focused on the drops of water and the part of the branch where the water drips from.
there's really nothing too interesting about it, IMO. you had the right idea with a low DOF for that sort of shot. focus on finding a more interesting subject and consider not centering the subject, but instead using the rule of thirds.
Also, the thing about this photo is it's something we've all seen and at an angle we all see it from. If nothing else, try getting underneath it or something to make it more interesting.
Why is it shot at 1600 ISO? Doesn't look like the shot required that high of an ISO...
The lightning was poor. It was grey outside outside with no sun. And I shot it at 34mm.
Shutterspeed was 1/60. If I would've shot on say ISO 800 the shutterspeed would be too slow and it would risk camerashake/blur.
boring.. you live in Sweden..there has to be more interesting things to photograph than that!
To be honest I took this pic while I was taking out the trash
yea, its a branch and a drop of water... we've all seen that and this particular shot isn't a captivating piece. i lurk here enough to know you can take better pics than this.
im just curious though, what sort of responses were you thinking of getting? were you trying to see if people would be impressed with the performance at 1600 or if the NR you used in post makes a 1600 shot look ok? just not sure what sorta c&c you were expecting...
I don't know what to takes pics of anymore
lol, no. I'm not trying advertising the XSi. It kinda blows at 1600.
I like the pic and thought it turned out good, and I wanted to confirm with OTAP if it was a cool pic (which I now know it isn't). So now I know this pic is boring and that I shouldn't take these kind of pic again. Profit!
go back to the skaters and get low!
nr is noise reduction.
Oh. I didn't use any noise reduction, unless you count image resizing as noise reduction
I don't think there are any skaters out now. It's cold as fuck.
not doing much for me. Maybe the trash would have been more interesting.
For some reason, I kinda like it. I hate the composition though. It's right in the center. Try cropping it differently.
Rules of thirds.
it's still uninteresting
Yeah I guess.
Polishing a turd. If you like it, that's what matters though. Enjoy.
Mather what other people think too. If 99% of OTAP says it sucks, I'm pretty sure it sucks whether I like it or not.
It just comes down to if you give a fuck or not. I have a lot of shots I really like and others don't. Enjoy what you like 'cause haters gonna hate.
Fair enough. Thanks.
I'll be honest, people like my stuff, but when they dig around and see the stuff I dont show they like that even more.
it's a branch.
if you like it, you like it
im not much of a nature photog, though; so i really dont know
