    :ugh:

I was cleaning my shotgun, and after putting it together, I found an O-ring.

my gun's not waterproof anymore =0\

seriously though, am I going to die?

also- I'd never shot a shotgun before, and am now the owner of a very nice bruise on my right shoulder...

    what kind?

11-87 and 1100 does for sure.

afaik, it should still function but not with light loads. you can get the orings cheap, i just ordered a 6 pack on ebay for $4 shipped.

do not recall any o-rings in the 870. There is definately o-rings in the 1100, and 11-87. If/when those o-rings break the shotgun stops functioning. Get the o-rings from eric wesselman. You get like 50 of them for $5. Change the o-rings every 1000 shells.

ok, well it sounds like i won't be able to load/fire any rounds if the o ring isn't in place.
so, really i don't need to worry about damaging the gun. i just need to figure out whether or not the o-ring goes to the gun (and if so, where the o-ring goes)!

    kk, thanks.
this of course brings up the next issue- where did this mysterious o-ring come from?!

i doubt a cleaning kit would have them. i'm going to guess that it's from these plastic boxes that look like ammo cans. i got 2 for $15, and they're really rugged. One I'm going to take to the range, and the other, I'm going to keep for... long term comic book storage?
