Been doing them usually at the end of my workout.
in for making my right shoulder feel better
wouldn't do them if you have shoulder pain
defranco has them with minibands as a part of the warmup on his dvd
crossfit uses them to help with overhead squat/press shouler flexibility
i havent spent over 50 000 on shoulder surgerys to fuck them up again im out lol
holy fuck, that doesn't look good!
would do a couple sets of 25 before working out and then more after.. these really pump up my shoulders and I don't like doing too much because I feel weaker if I do too many. that really goes for any type of warming up actually.
What? Standard stretch for the snatch, but maybe not at that speed. That speed ="hi, I am your labrum, I am going to tear now. Tyyl, final boss."
That does not look safe...
I would pass on them
i agree with tiny, dislocations are good for flexibility
Pretty sad I guess, when 90 kg is considered tiny , hopefully by this time I will be in the bottom range of 105. Hopefully 97-100.
At that speed? I didn't look at the vid admittedly til now.
I do it very slowly compared to that.
What is the benefit of this?
didnt see that.
well, i have the flexibility of an overgrown retired elephant, maybe I will work towards one of these
I do em during warm ups, not as fast as this guy though.
Yeah use a fairly wide-grip and go a fuck of a lot slower than this guy... If he was a tad bit tight or cold, it would spell major fucking injury. Also, another version for a "deeper" or static stretch is to take a stretch bar, or just even use your hands, and place the bar overhead while pushing the bar against a door frame. Slowly lean forward while contracting your shoulder blades together. Do so until you feel a stretch in the anterior portion of your capsules, back out, repeat.
me neither. jesus.
I do them way slower.
whenever i do this i can feel my tendons in my left shoulder grind/move
In the magnificent mobility dvd, this is one of the FEW upper body warmup dynamic stretches they cover. If you are familiar with the creators of this DVD, take their expertise into consideration when considering doing these.
personally I have bad posture because of really tight pecs and anterior delts. i stretch them a lot, but shoulder dislocations really stretch those muscles out well.
I used to do them pre and post workout just as part of my general warmup and they felt great. I don't know why that dude is doing them fast as hell, i always do them slow and controlled. If my new gym had a goddamn stick I'd still be doing them, but there's nothing available to do em with there. Wish I could.
You can also do them with a towel or a band.
