TECH Showing top referers, worth it?

In my search to get more traffic I was wondering if those Top Referer things that some sites have (like www.totallynsfw.com has on the right) are any good or worth the time adding them?

It's like link trading I guess but does google frown on it or anything like that?

Have you had any issues with it? I had it on HugeUp and SmiliesFTW but it would break. I think after too many unique referers it goes to shit or something.

Its a great feature to give some of your top guys some return love, but it can also cause people to try and abuse it by sending your site false referrals using click bots.

FOr the one I posted, SHampoo created a script to delete all entries for any given referer. Helps to cut down on the abusers. THe script itself allows you to block sites at your will.

Nope, never had any problems with it that I'm aware of
