Sin City heard it was really good from some friends. Anyones thoughts?
Roger Ebert gave it an A...that's good enough for me.
I am seeing it as soon as I get out of school!
watching it tonight.
just saw it. really good i think. except the ending hits you like a tonne of bricks.
I didn't read the comics, but I thought the movie was great
Just got back from seeing it. I'm going to agree with the above post and add a for Jessica Alba.
Just got back too and I l LOVED IT!!! Cant believe how many people were in it. YOu can tell Quinten Tarentino(sp) helped with directing. Who ever see's this GO!
i though it was ok. Not the best movie but i was entertained
Well I saw it. Can't really tell you if i liked it or not. However, let's go from one aspect of this movie to another one.
Direction, Cinematography and Editing were strong. There was a lot of interesting shots, angles and everything was done very well. It also seemed that Rodriguez tried very carefully to bring the comic book to life (some shots were making me feel like i'm looking thru a comic book or watching a max payne cutscene).
Plot was pretty weak, I say as weak as Jessica Alba's acting talent. Then again it's a comic book so I wasn't expecting much, still tho'.
Acting was good. I didn't see half assed job that I saw in Be Cool or Ocean's Twelve. Alba was prolly the weakest link there, but i guess her beauty makes up for it.
Girls. Holy shit, hottie after hottie after hottie, can make anyone's head spin. Carla Gugino was just beautiful, and so was Jamie King (hotness). I was salivating pretty badly (Dawson, Murphy, Shelton were hot also).
Do0ds. Rourke, Del Toro(he pwns) and Owen were awesome. Willis did a pretty good job too. However Nick Stahl was the shit.
This movie is very stylish, innovative and violent. I wasn't thoroughly entertained, because of a lot of slow moments. I can't say this movie was touching or thought-provoking. I guess if i have to put it in category it would be Amusing.
I was definately amused and interested, mostly cause of the unusual style of the movie. I don't regret spending 2 hours and 8 bucks on it.
However, was it good? Ehhh, it was not bad, it was decent.
P.S. Clothed stripper = teh lose. Elijah Wood as Harry Potter
Elijah Wood was the freakest part of that movie I felt
elijah wood was a fuckin creep
gonna watch this tonight so excited
Comparable to Kill Bill in my opinion if not better (I doubt many will agree). Apparently the only scene Tarantino directed was the scene between Owen and Del Toro in the car (with the "object" in Del Toro's cranium).
The dialouge was definitely badass (Rourke is a hard-ass) and the humor is great!
A+++ for me personally...
I liked it waaay better than Kill Bill.
Rourke's voice when he was narrating was fuckin' awesome.
@ Hartnett getting more pussy than you will ever conceive.
Fantastic movie! * * * *
You can huh? He directed one scene in the entire movie (scene with Benecio's head in the car). Rodriguez is a one man show -he shot, cut and editted the entire movie-. What's hilarious is the University of Texas at Austin didn't think he had enough promise to admit him to their film school
I saw it the other day and was also entertained. The main thing that bothered me and kinda wanted me to have it end was that there was no lead character. There were a bunch of stories each with a lead, but thier stories didn't tie in to each other with the exception of them all living in the same city. The visuals were orgasmic and mind bending.
On another note, Rodriguez is a great filmmaker, but a prick. My teatcher at ACC was his teacher at one point and was going to make her pay the full $150 for the special screening with a meet and great with him, so that made me lose a lot of respect for him for not remembering who helped him get where he is. She's done a lot more than teach a class for him.
Just got back from seeing it and I liked it a lot. Great visual style that wasn't distracting for me at all. The only thing is the movie gets a bit repetitive (someone gets shot in the shoulder, someone gets slugged, repeat) but it kept me entertained. It was a lot more brutal and violent than I expected, lots of hacked off limbs and heads, but since the blood is rarely colored red, it's not nearly as gross as you would think. Roarke was great, the best he has been in years. Willis was very good too, and Wood was a really creepy villian. And as an above poster noted, the chicks ranged from fine to super fine, even a little topless action going on. Good movie.
Are you kidding me? I wouldn't do JACK SHIT for the school that said I wouldn't amount to shit.
BTW my brother's best friend roomed with him and has nothing but good things to say
oklay just watched this movie earlier and it was awesome !!!! damn
I saw it yesterday and right after I saw it I was like "I don't know if it I liked it or not." --- after a while, and now, I want to see it again! Good movie!
UT said he wouldn't amount to shit, not ACC.
all I can say about this movie is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
I loved it and I will pay to see it again.
It is a welcome change from the typical action movie.
