can i just put it in my computer and install it
Why not? OSX doesn't ask for a serial...
seriously man, in todays times how can you think companies wouldnt put some sort of serial key for an operating system like osx?
like other os'es, the disc isnt any good without the serial
Because your Mac is the serial #. That's why it takes some jumping through hoops to install it on Hackintosh's. Each genuine Mac has a serial # that the install disc verifies before installing. It's also how they lock you out from installing the OS on a Mac that can't handle the requirements. Unlike Windows which will install on anything it can find a HD on.
welcome to ot
not even close.
Yea, but it sounded pretty good right?
quit trying to lead him in the wrong direction.
to the thread starter, yes you need the serial for it
would a serial from say serialbox work? i mean, people pirate osx all the time
the disc of OSX tiger that came with my mac didn't have no serial.
or is it just retail ones that do?
try it on the newest version you can find
i cant tell if you guys are being serious or not.
yea theres no serial lol.
You can use the serial that i got. I got mine for free as an apple employee. PM for s/n.
you better watch out, there was an article about a rouge apple employee giving out the pirate specific serial to people so apple coule track them
man now i don't know what to think
if you don't have the serial, it'll ask you 3 questions.
Failing one question makes your mac asplode.
it comes with being a faggot. dont pirate osx, its the one piece of software that is worth it.
I'm not condoning piracy, but given how much Apple charges for its hardware, I'd say they're still getting more than their money's worth. In fact, I think it's kind of ridiculous to charge so much money for what is essentially a cosmetic makeover with a few tweaks.
It doesn't bother me when people choose to pirate Apple's software.
