I've never had a good support system so I've usually always done handheld SLR everything. Just got in the: Gitzo G1227 mk2 carbon fiber tripod RRS BH-40 with lever clamp and arca-swiss lever plate RRS L bracket for 20D and grip RRS shoe for 70-200 2.8L Gitzo G1566 mk2 aluminum monopod (had it before with no head) Bogen 3232 swivel head for monopod RRS arca-swiss lever plate for monopod It's sooo much better than my topply manfrotto mini tripod with a head that couldn't hold my lenses steady at all. Now I'm thinking I should return the 1227 for the 1228 gitzo to compromise a tad between travel and non-travel tripods and junk the manfrotto mini. Don't want to use that thing ever again. I'll post pics here later, charging the batteries for my crummy point and shoot.
