the weatherman say it's gonna rain on friday i hope that bastard is wrong
Bataan Death March?
nah. just the annual 20k on ft. bragg
You should do it next year. Ask brackac about it.
20K = 26.2 miles?
3 hour time limit?
in formation or on your own?
4 hours duhh yay for pogness
4 hours = walk at your leisure.
i'm just worry about the potential rain :/
"if it ain't rainin'...you ain't trainin'"
with that being said....yea..fuck rain
and cold weather
cold is good for long ass ruck marches
we usually start in winter jackets, fleece, combat shirt and long underwear and finish in tshirts
is that supposed to be heavy?
apparently, according to OT main forum police officers.... that's how much all their gear weighs
damn, longest ruck i did was 6 miles with 50lbs, i cant imagine doing 6 more after that
Really? Air Force?
I know right. I just weighed my pack, flak & kevlar. 75lb + M16 + Serialized gear (NVG, Radio, Tent, Binoculars other shit) + 60mm Mortar Gear (20lb each person)
^ If you have even 1/2 of what I listed for serialized and the rest it's about 100 - 125lb
20k huh...that would be nice.
25 Miler coming up May 8th. Last year we did it in 8hrs, 32 min.
I have walked further with a heavier pack to get chow in the morning
worst ever for me was a 22k, took us like 8 hours. The pace was nice, but we had way too much equipment. It was winter, cold but not windy and the sun was out. Trudging through 3 ft of snow, took turns being scouts with rackets, took turns carrying platoon/section support weapons, took turns carrying and being (that was nice) casualties and finally, took turns dragging the section sleds, which have everything you need for a week of winter warfare, tent groups, rations, ammo, water, tools for digging in, lanterns and allthatshit, all this on top of our personal rucks and shit. We had two radiomen become actual casualties that had to be evac'ed near the end.
I'd only been in the army a few months at this point, so that day is what came closest to breaking me, it was all good though, powered through and we all ran the last 1k and finished in our t-shirts in -20 weather, feels good man.
Did you take a 2 hour nap?
I am guessing 4 hour nap for you guys.
read on, lol
but yeah, it was a slow pace
