whattya think happens to vehicle prices? Take the last two years (2006-2007) sales figures and combine them...that is 6 million less cars being produced, for sale here in the USA, in one year. Why do you think Ford is backing off on the whole bailout thing. They aren't begging for it like GM and Chrysler. Ford could gain the most out of this whole thing.

BTW did you know that about 65,000 new cars were exported for sale from the USA, overseas last year? Over 600,000 came to the USA from Korea alone last year.

Anyway do you think car prices would go down? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say...no

I figured the "know it alls" would stay away from this one.

Because they haven't thought of this scenario.

I can already see it. MSNBC and all the news outlets will have daily reports on escalating car prices. titled: "Whatever happened to rebates?"

Those imported cars piling up at shipyards because even Toyota & BMW can't sell cars right now won't be piling up at shipyards anymore.

GM and Chrysler are gonna be marketing names in the near future.

All their cars will be purchased designs by contract R&D firms and built by contract manufacturers.

Like Saleen or Roush? Hennessey or Foose? Boeing? Who is gonna buy a car from the "contract" manufacturer? The domestics get enough of the "piece of shit" stereotype as it is.

Because they will be designed by people who actually know what they're doing :mamoru2:
