i ended up uninstalling
From what I understand, it dumps all the html stuff into a folder and you can host it anywhere you want
is that including RSS or Podcasts?
I'm not sure...I'm only basing this on a video I watched from MacWorld. They were doing a demo with the MacBook Pro and someone asked if you had to use .mac and the said it dumps all the html into a folder for you to upload elsewhere. I would assume that inludes RSS and podcasts but i'm not certain
you can export it to a html folder and upload it to a regular host but from what I hear the ajax slideshows won't be as fancy, something to do with the back end on dot mac
Your av is awsome!
pretty much, you can dump everything into a folder...pretty much all .mac does is makes it so it's one click publishing (ie: it'll log onto .mac and upload the files...)
and the slideshows aren't as pretty as using .mac, but there are work arounds...besides, iweb sucks at handling graphics...so the work around is actually alot better...(better slideshow and image compression)
here is the slideshow i use for my site that isn't on a .mac...alot nicer...
and search their forum on how to resize the slideshow windows so it doesn't take over your screen...
oh and my site is hosted on dreamhost...
to clear up any issues..
i did a review on iweb already, it's somewhere in this forum...
and i recommend a sperate html editor so you can do your own html tweeks to the site before you upload it...it'll need it...
