Meh, the parts you can drive up to are touristy. But if you can hike a mile or two in, it clears up and it's beautiful.

But sounds like she's coming early in the hiking season so shit will still be maybe too snowy for hiking.

End of May into June she's coming so don't think there would be that much snow at the tops

I don't think that's how it works, mane. I went lend of June/early July to Banff and there were still areas of hikes with sketchy snow crossings. A month earlier is surely worse.

Was told its so touristy .. so many other beautiful places to see so I'd rather go where there isn't a bus load of people.

It is, but I still think it's worth it for the lake in LL and the architecture in Banff. A lot of people would recommend Canmore as a less touristy spot next to Banff but I'm not sure if it has much over Revelstoke tbh.

Also not sure if I'd bother with Calgary (as others mentioned) , it doesn't have anything over Vancouver other than lots of sun in the winter and the Stampede
