lol i thought that was gonna be a big joke but it was actually pretty good.
Surprisingly it's a half decent article.
So i should not attempt my Dim Mak?
its still the standard fighting technique of college kids.
so is jumping out of windows to avoid cops.
I was expecting disaster actually. I don't think kicking is flashy at all, but he does have a point. I think his stance just looks funny though.
Are you laughing at the article? Seriously, it makes a ton of sense if you've ever boxed.
No I was laughing at what I was expecting. I was shocked how well put together it actually was. The opening paragraph could have lead it anywhere.
I am baffled everytime I see a fighter or boxer walk around with their chins parallel to the ground, even after they have taken hits. I feel like banging my head against the wall anytime I see liddel fight.
Even in both TKD schools I went to, we were strongly encouraged not to use high kicks in a self defense situation, and to keep everything below the waist. We even drilled Thai kicks to the knees and thighs with the same regularity as roundhouse kicks, sidekicks, crescents, axe kicks, etc.
Side kick/Roundhouse kick to the head/etc. = Flashy, potential to end badly
Thai kicks to the knee/thigh = effective
I was a little LOL atkeeping the power hand in front.
I'm a lefty but learned to box orthodox then adjusted my self to southpaw.
most of the time you will see an untrained striker "wind up" when they punch which makes it 100x easier to avoid
TKD in my opinion is more flashy than effective in a real situation. Not to take anything away from it cause there is that TKD guy in K1 who has some vicious crazy kicks. That Axe kick he does has me in fucking awe everytime he does it too. I laugh I guess because I know how to kick properly, but I have seen people attempt to and fall flat on their ass going for a wild head kick. I use a lot of thai knee's and that style of kick. I snap my leg down basically even when I go for head kicks I slice down a bit.
