But Ford said NO! So Renault Nissan is now rumored to go to plan B and wants to buy Saab from GM.
I'd rather Nissan bought Mitsubishi.
mitsubishi != premium brand
Bad time to be asking the yanks for some cash...
"with an exchange of shares, on condition that the US Administration undertook to relieve either firm from some of its pension obligations."
I hate Renault but I like Nissan.
They already own Volvo
Renault is buying Cadillac?
imagine the fucked up results
And Nissan already owns Mitusbishi trucks as well. Might as well pick up the cars too.
They're offering to buy Saab from GM. GM should use this opportunity to unload their Swedish burden as they can't save themselves, let alonge Saab.
It would be a great opportunity to put cars in the USA market that can actually offer something to the upscale yank
if anyone can save saab, well... it's not gm.
Saab under the Nissan-Renault alliance would be cool. Not only would Saab get some much needed cash, but I bet they'd get the autonomy they need to start making cars with character again.
Even if Saab didn't have exclusive chassis for their cars, Renault and Nissan can give them some nice platforms to use. An FM-based Saab 9-5 sedan would be sweet. Maybe the Stagea could be the basis for a wagon.
