Over on GT:
I just have one little tiny question for Glock.
If it's "Perfection," why have they made so many revisions to parts of the design? For example, we're on the 8th generation of mag followers for the G22 alone.
And the 3rd Gen. of frames. Not to mention various other internal things that have been tweaked.
I hate their grip, looking forward to the new version.
It does look dated.
those slide serrations look fawking terrible
I see what you did there...
Can't do the slide serrations, but the extra traction grip is cool.
Wish they'd offer a replaceable backstrap option that would allow a more "non-Glock" grip angle. That probably sounds goofy, but I think a completely modular grip would be boss shit. While they are at it, make it changeable in length to fit the various magazines. How cool would that be?
2nd and 3rd gen look better than that
i'll answer your question with a question: if your 1911 is gods gift to men, why do you have to fit so many parts and do so much work?
glock should just make it with a 1911 grip angle, since people just turn around and have someone shave and reshape the grip so you can grip it right
Agreed, their like Apple and their single button mouse when it comes to the grip angle thing, they just refuse to do anything about it and say this is what you will use and you will like it.
Makita, Ryobi, and DeWalt should change their drill designs to a proper 1911 grip angle too. In fact, I should look into a 1911 grip for my revolver.
Thankfully, 1911 grips are available for the AR-15.
I tried to put some on my dewalt, can't seem to do it myself, will drop it off at the 'smith on my monthly visit.
Maybe it's the Relentless Pursuit of Perfection.
Funny thing is, I don't notice much difference when I'm focused on the front sight...
There's obviously nothing "wrong" with the Glock grip angle; I just think that the angle/hump is one of the biggest things that keep people from getting on the Glock bandwagon. This is obviously a training issue, but it is what it is and it's one of the biggest reasons I sold mine. A factory option that configured the grip to something more familiar with American shooters would perhaps help unalienate a large market.
Where's Yar at? I'm waiting for him to swoop in and tell me that I'm a pussy for not sacking up and shooting them, but that he is making a frame that accomidates the above for the unwashed masses.
My 3rd gen is just fine for me thanks. I figured by the 4th gen they would put a picatinny rail on there.
A) I don't go around saying it's God's gift, at least not all that often.
B) It worked fine from the factory. I just choose to customize and personalize it.
Isn't that some car company's slogan? Like Lexus or Infiniti or somesuch?
1980's ergonomics, might as well use 1980's digital cameras
The surface looks like an improvement but some more grip panel options would really be nice. My understanding is that glock doesn't much agree with the suggestion that their guns aren't perfect already though so I doubt we'll be seeing it.
so will these have the ambidextrous mag release???
if so IN
i know, just fucking with you you know i love you 1911
Probably. The latest gen of magazines has an area cut out to fit an ambi mag release...
I like my 3rd gen G19, the grip fits my hand perfect. It's all a matter of preference.
