other than free whoisguard
I've been using them for years without a problem, but I keep hearing mumblings about namecheap
namecheap has monthly coupons and i think they are all around cheaper than godaddy if i remember correctly. i have all my domains with them now.
i like godaddy... i have never paid more than 7 bux for a domain... cause of codes i find allover.... i wouldnt host with em tho... their options suck
yeah, Namecheap are more reliable then Godaddy. i have several domains with them their support is much better then godaddy.
godaddy support is awesome
i have been buying domains off of godaddy for 5+ years and never had a problem with them or had my account locked
after reading your other thread, godaddy is not to blame
I wouldn't use GoDaddy for hosting ever.
But I like their renewal for a year + transfer for $6.99 or whatever. I've been consolidating my little onesie and twosie domains from all over different accounts as they get near expiration.
Does Namecheap have *permanent* free WhoisGuard?
I see it's normally only $2.88 a year, free with new reg or xfer? I might do that on my GoDaddy domains when they need renewal.
You'd think name protection would be cheaper since it's basically just e-mail redirection and notification. So little traffic, uses hardly any resources. I wonder if that would be a good area to get into...
Same here. support is great when you need it and they will contact you to help get your domains renewed if you have a bunch.
But the best part is the price. You can ALWAYS find coupon codes for great discounts for new registrations AND renewals which isn't always easy to find. Namecheap is more even with their coupon codes and I don't think they have coupons for renewals.
Both are good for domains though...just like godaddy better.
Fabulous.com is another good registrar as far as price.
I use Namecheap.
I had Godaddy hosting once and wanted to shoot myself.
I love how people are bad mouthing godaddy because of hosting and unless i am wrong, i think threadstarter was comparing registration only
yes godaddy has sucky hosting that is not the point of this thread
godaddy is a clusterfuck and sneaks in charges if you're not careful, not to mention its difficult as fuck to navigate around. The only positive side is that the coupons beat namecheap.
I was considering switching my domains to namecheap, but decided just to stick, for now at least, with godaddy. I've never had a problem with them as a registrar.
www.1and1.com is what I use.
namecheap = cleaner interface, free whois guard, and last time i checked free SSL certs too
