I keep hitting my damned knees. :wtc:

I tried sumo style, and that seemed a bit better, though I don't think it's as good for my knees - especially when I get into heavier weights.

Any tips on keeping good form?

Qui, also dont keep the bar too close to your legs.
There are a lot of reason why the bar is pushing foward.
Look straight. Keep shoulders behind the bar. try using both-overhand grip.

When you're standing straight, make sure your shins stay straight. To get lower, push your ass outward, and keep pushing outward until you're low enough to grab the bar.

If my shins ever developed a curve during deadlifts, I would be very concerned.

Okay. So shins perpendicular to the floor, ass out, back straight?

I guess it's just a lack of coordination on my part. This should be easy.

    Cool, guys. Thanks.

I think I need to find a spotter while I start out.

No spotter for deadlifts. You shouldn't be going anywhere near failure anyhow.

i dont think u understood the diagram correctly. it has nothing to do with height, rather anatomical distribution between your trunk and legs

Preemo is right. The guy on the left could even be the taller person.
