Kinda disappointed. I wanted to see him in the UFC
villasenor looked amazing when he beat the shit out of loiseau. soko and him will produce a great match up.
how long/how many fights?
Wrong weight classes.
soko isnt 185?
wow, guess not. then fuck it, theres no one for him to fight over there.
apparently nick diaz is eliteXC as well. didnt recall hearing anything about that.
thats the problem with the smaller orgs, to get good fights, you have to have people switch weight classes so much
I don't see Soku making 185 ever. He is HUGE.
but villasenor is massive at 185
I came in to post this. lame he wont keep smashing through BTT, but good for him, looks like he'll be getting paid.
really? he has always struck me as nothing more than an average MW, maybe a tad larger, but nothing special.
looks pretty big right now on shoHD "countdown to shamrock-baroni" promoting his upcoming fight.
weird, the 300 other pictures of him online he looks pretty average. Maybe footage is before cutting process and heavy training.
regardless, Terry woud likely murder him and he shoudl undoubtadly be the MW champ in a few days, so i doubt he'll want to go anywhere.
signed with them and pride around the same time.
its not like being champ of elite will put him into superstar status. there's not going to be anyone for him to fight there after he wins that match.
Soko would be the biggest 185 ever.
Wow thats a huge disappointment, i was really looking forward to seeing him in the UFC. Hopefully he'll get bored of EliteXC after realizing theres no competition and come to the UFC.
i was refering to weight class
I can't imagine this is better move long run than signing with the UFC.
its 4 fights, not a life sentence, and form what Dan Henderson was saying it sounds liek they were tryign to lowball the hell out of Terry. And Dan publicly calling it "insulting" is a very important muscle being flexed. There is a shit load of talent in limbo right now and by the looks of it a lot of that talent will take their pay elsewhere.
he's 23 and its 4 fights. he should easily hold the title there which will just give him more barganing power in a year or two with the UFC and he runs little risk of getting thrown to the wolves (not that it has posed a problem to him yet). Short term he has got to be makign himself a heck of a lot mroe money, and long term his is positioning himself quite well for hihger contract negotiations and marketability.
I dont think hendo is going to advize him to commit career suicide.
good point. I posted that right when i got to work and was still half asleep. I just hope he isnt a victim of a freak upset that could hurt him in the next contract negotiation.
that is the exact risk he runs. The only way he made the wrong decision is if he loses an easy fight, which has a better chance of happening in the UFC anyways (not to mention a loss in the UFC hoolds a lot more exposure).
