Today I flew without my instructor in the cockpit. Started off nervous as hell. Imagine taking the training wheels off your bicycle for the first time, and then peddling down the Alps. That's how I felt at the beginning. After taking off I quickly calmed down and did the required 3 traffic patterns. My landing wasn't the prettiest, but I got it on the ground. I guess that's what really matters. Overall I was pleased, but I still need to work on relaxing in the cockpit. My thighs get a good workout from all of the body english in the cockpit. Overall though I think I am doing pretty well and am loving flying. Only up from here, pardon the pun.

    helo right?

I remember my first solo in a plane....I was'nt nervous untill the engine cut out going 60 (10 mph below rotate speed) and had to do an emergency stop. LOL first solo was a few days later, everything went fine.

Turns out that my neighbor / friend is probably one of the more senior Blackhawk warrants around...he flies the U'R CDR all the time. Get a Blackhawk assignment and I'll make sure you get this unit.

I will keep that in mind, but the BH is at the bottom of my list. Chinooks are what I want to fly.

depending on the shirt I wouldn't mind, but most of the shirts that I wear are only one year runs.
