Yes, I've read the archives. So I've seen that the general consensus is to avoid the stuff. I found this article that explained the drawbacks: http://www.muscleblitz.com/soy_protein.htm But it also talks about some of the advantages and the author finishes the article by mentioning that mixing soy protein isolates with whey protein isolates might be a good idea. Anyway, that's not the point. What I'm getting at is this: My neighbor gave me about 150$ worth of soy protein isolate (because it tastes disgusting, and it's true) for free. I've been keeping track of my eating for the past few weeks and will start a daily gym routine tomorrow. If I put 20g of the stuff in my shake in the morning, will the effects really be all that bad? That's the only time I'll be taking it, the rest of the day I'll get my protein from food so I can avoid taking too much of it. Once I'm done with what I got (it'll be a few months most likely), I'll switch to whey, but in the mean-time, would it matter all that much if I took soy protein and am simply looking to bulk up a little and gain more strengh?
