I've always wanted a SPAS even though its not really practical
No spas crew?
I think there's a couple guys on here with them, I can't remember who though.
Pretty sure PUREVIL's got one, but I think he's it.
noice. out though
Honest question: What makes a Spas-12 better than say a normal pump 12 gauge? I really don't know anything about them.
Better? You can use it in semi-auto or pump mode. I don't know if it's better though - I've read some people saying it's less reliable because of the dual mode feature.
I own one as well. Better than a normal shotgun? No. It's big, front heavy, parts are expensive and hard to find, all in all it's impractical as hell.
But the "cool factor" is way up there, and as of 1989, there are no more coming in, so it's something of a collector
Not exactly. The spas's design is just over complicated and prone to issues. The bennelli m3 w/ semi/pump is plenty reliable.
I never had any cycling issues with mine I use Remmy Express Long range loads.
you sure these guns aren't your dad's too?
I had to bump it...
Ah yes, the SPAS 12. That is something I'd like to have. I loved this gun in Terminator. I guess that is where I first got knowledge of the gun. Prices aren't too terribly high yet. I wouldn't be surprised if one found its way into my gun safe sometime this year...
i was one for $600 last year but bought an O/U for $600 instead. i should have gotten the spas
SAIGA12 > SPAS 12
that is gonna be my next purchase, minus the wood furniture
Any special mods to get the upper handguard on the gastube? That SAIGA 12 is tits.
Enough mods that you'll probably want to skip it. So far, only Dinzag and Cobra have wood furniture mirroring that of the AK47. There's a reason nobody else does
It's not impossible, just time consuming.
Thought about getting a SPAS 12. Too nervous about the safety level recall, which as far as I can tell, isn't honored anymore. No one sells the updated trigger pack to solve the horrendously fatal flaw that exists.
BTW--the flaw is this: If you put it in safe, then pull the trigger, the internals release and just wait in a half fired position. When you release the safety, it fires immediately.
Or something like that.
Plus I hear they're really heavy.
But I really realy want one.
