I run a SQL SERVER for a call centre that uses the DB daily from 7 AM - 9 PM grossly. The server is the basis at which the call centre software runs, and stores everything, as well as where all the dialing numbers are kept for the hundreds of dials we make a minute. I have always run a maintenance plan for it after hours, but I feel like it is not optimal. A lot of people have recommended I take DB shrinking off, and not leave certain amounts of unused space. Can anyone recommend me a good maintenance plan as my server is slowing down and I think it has to do with the method I backup and store the trans log as well as the actual backup.
