So I bought a 1988 325i convertible the other day for 500 bux. it has 200k miles on it, but the guy changed all shocks springs, control arms, wheel bearings. It's a bit rusty so I'm going to buy those plastic fender flares and learn some bodywork ... hehe

Anyway look over this checklist of issues to deal with in fitting an sr20 into e30, am i missing anything? any tips?

custom engine mounts ( bridge chassis crossmember to meet motor mount)
    custom driveshaft
    spacer for gearbox mount
    exhaust to the other side
    supra differential to match motor
    custom tachometer
    wiring (use sr20 ecu)
find brake booster and fuel pump/lines that fit

You might try talking to Al over at dentsport garage, since he had an SR20 powered E30 (it was 4G63 before that, but he switched to the nissan for gearbox choices).

    e30/sr20 build

    Everything i list get new:
    1. waterpump
    2. timing belt
    3. spark plugs/wires
    4. Flywheel
    5. clutch
    6. pressure plate
    7. throw-out bearing
Might as well replace them since the engine is out. Makes the job a whole lot easier.
