cause I want this hand guard
I looked at that thing once, and I remember it being heavy.
It's not that hard at all. Just get the right tools: A proper armorer's wrench, vise block, and set of punches.
armorer's wrench: nope
vise block: check
was just looking at the Brownell's instructional....maybe I can get the parts assembled in sections
just held a Sig 556 pistol with that guard....very nice.
I did mine without a vise block
that's a drop-in handguard
It's really not, but that doesn't mitigate it's shitiness
I found a place selling it online that said it adds a pound to the weight of the rifle. I can't find anything that gives a weight by itself, but I figured it would have to weigh quite a bit to add a pound. Shit, my DD Omega only added a couple of ounces over my plastic handguards.
Yeah, 13 or 14 ounces is probably pretty on, it distributes itself fairly well.
I guess that just doesn't seem like a ton. The DD Omega is very light for what it is though.
